I bought one at Redditch eight years ago. It had several issues including a bad set in the top section, slack ferrule, non original tip ring and a repair to the top section. I paid a fair price commensurate with its condition. I managed to straighten the top section reasonably well and the rod has served me well with no problems. Indeed it has been in on the capture of several PB's including a common carp of almost eighteen pounds and a Wye barbel of ten pounds. When I bought a later model a few years ago I was struck by how much thicker the butt section was on the new rod (thirty thou) and how much darker the cane was on the Ealing rod.
