Dating a Wizard...

Good morrow folks... I suppose this question has been done to death at some point, but I'm trying to put a date on my Wizard. (from that website) I managed to get 3 rods, 3 reels, a creel, rod bag, landing net handle and net, a cheesegrater keepnet, and various bits for a good price...

one of the rods is labelled as an Allcock's Wizard... it has...
a whole cane butt section with a gold oval label with red lettering
a 19" 7/8ths" handle from the button to the top of the alloy cone.
a sheet cork covering, on the handle
hi bells rings with an agate butt and tip ring whipped in red
alloy reel bands, the rod measures 10' 11" assembled...
butt 45.5"
middle 45.25"
tip 42.5"

it is in a fair useable condition, albeit with a slight knock on one of the ferrules and a slight set in the whole cane butt section..
If anyone can date the rod from this description I'd be grateful... I do like to know rough dates and info on my rods

Many Thanks

Aitch

I knew it was short in the tip... but its not something I'm worried about... it's going to be refurbished as it's already been done at some point in its life, the knocking ferrule needs attention and the rubber button seems to be stuck and the butt section needs straightening out

All in all... its a nice rod, albeit a little unbalanced due to the short handle... which I think will benefit from one of Wal's butt extenders... I have one on my Medina and that works exceedingly well...
