I have a K Dowling centre pin reel surplus to requirements and would like to offer it to a member who would like to try fishing with a pin but does not have a suitable reel to use. It is in good working order, spins freely, pretty good cosmetically and looks to be a robust well made reel. It is offered free of charge to anyone who would like to gain some experience with a centre pin and perhaps pass it on at some future point for another member to try if deemed appropriate. Sorry chaps, reel no longer available....my son decided he'd like to try it out on the rod I made for him. If he doesn't get on with it however, Gudgeon Basher has first dibs.

Can you recommend a centerpin for me to use for crucian/tench fishing on a small lake? Just bear in mind I have never used a centerpin and don't want to break the bank until I know that I will get on with it.
