While still in search of my five pound chub I need all the help I can muster and so last year I purchased a copy of 'Big Fish from Small Streams' by Tony Miles which in its own right is a brilliant book.

However I was surprised when I received it as this is an 'Authors Copy', I have had in the past 'Reviewers Copies' sent to me for that purpose but I never saw an 'Authors Copy'.

I bought one of these too Mark, and it is a great read, one of the best specimen angling books I have read for a while, although I did skip the carp and bream sections.

yes a great book i wouldn't worry too much if its a authors copy i bought a book the other day which was publishers copy it didnt put me off buying it

Its not put me off in the slightest Mario I was just wondering about it.

'Author's' copy may mean that 400 were numbered and there are some extras. Not worth worrying about if you enjoy the book and surely that's the best reason to buy any book?

I'm not worried about it.

If it is an author's copy doesn't that mean it was owned by Tony Miles and so is more special?
Looks like a cracking read. Catching big fish from small streams (preferably touch ledgering a freelined bait with MKIV avon and 'pin) is my idea of heaven.

Tried to get hold of a copy. All sold out. Never mind
