If any of you are on Facebook, there is a dedicated page for fans of Chris Yates with nearly 3,000 members (including some well known names).

https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q= ... 0(angling)

If this link doesn't work, simply search Facebook for "Chris Yates (angling)".

Some of the things featured recently on the page include the full handwritten original manuscript of Casting At The Sun and a Golden Scale Club letter written with ink made from Redmire water.

i presume Admin of this site will allow us a little plug. Apologies if not, and feel free to remove!

This page is running a series of historical Yates articles from various magazines in the 1980s at the moment.

Only just joined. But I can't help wondering if the man himself ever looks at the site!

He has the kit but doubt he looks in although his kids are on facebook, so I'm sure they look and report back at times.

I can assure you he has looked at his Facebook page. He was quite shocked at the amount of members according to his Son. As for the Redmire watered ink and GSC headed letter, that is a thing that Our friend Fennel Hudson (a member of this site) does. Nigel Fennel Hudson is the youngest and newest member of the Golden Scale Club and got in because he befriended Chris after working with Bernard Venables. I'm not sure how long he has been a member but I think it is quite a while now. Nobody could be more deserving of the position. He's become a good friend to me through fishing for wild carp and I enjoy his literature.

It may surprise you to know that Chris Yates now has a mobile phone but he doesn't use it much.
