Photo evidence of the change in the Wensum over the last 60 years

This first photo was taken in the 1940's looking upstream at Ryburgh bridge.
This is the same spot in the 1960's.
This is the same spot in 2011.
This is looking downstream in the 1960's and the photographer told me he had four two pound roach beside the pole you can see on the right.

Finally the 'gush' below Ryburgh Mill in the 1960's and then again in 2011
I don't know what waterway 'engineering' may or may not have contributed and I don't know if abstraction may be a factor. Whilst the pictures were taken in different seasons, it does seem like a tremendous change.
(I should add that I fish further downstream so may stand corrected if the location isn't as I was told - I haven't followed the golden journalistic rule of getting at least two reliable sources to confirm the detail!)
