Nice job Pafpuff
Just done a bit of :holmes: in the telephone directories and Tom Watson's have quite a history. The first entry is for 1937
22 Leenside until 1939
1940-1972 158 Canal Street
1973 the company name is changed to & sons and moves to 2 addresses
1973-1983 there is 198 Likestone rd & 1 Oak Street one was listed as retail and the other wholesale. So I assume this is when a third generation came into the business? The directories only go to 1984 and by then they are back to one address Carrington rd.
Now for the interesting part for your rod he added the & son in 1949 and in 1951 the phone number changed to 52771 so leaving a pretty narrow date for your rod. So I hope he didn't order to many of those labels,so if you find any with a hand written 5 in front of the telephone number we will know he did! :Hat:

Oh, my; that looked pretty good in the "before" shot, now it's just lovely.
Even the whole cane looks dark, was it all heat-treated? Anyhow, it looks as though it should have quite some power of persuasion. Very tasty.
