The Angling Artists by Tony Meers

Post by Scott »

So I sold a cane fly rod to a lovely chap, he needed some advice on fly fishing, I was happy to oblige, emails went back and forth etc.

Turns out the chap is none other than Tony Meers author of The Angling Artists and by way of thanks he gifts me a signed copy of his book! What a guy! Anyway I'm only on the first chapter but have flicked through looking at the pictures countless times.

With chapters on Bernard Venables, BB, Andrew Field and the TFF's very own Paul Cook, to name but a few, each chapter follows a nice format of the artists writing about themselves as artists, then an angling story or two...

Anyway, it's highly recommended, can't wait to get back to it!

Cheers, Scott...

The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

Tony is a member of TFF so he'll doubtless be blushing :)
