Forty Fore Heavy

Here's the pics related to elsewhere. All original whippings just rubbed down and overvarnished to consolidate.
Sorry couldnt get it all in on one shot without it looking too distant.
A bit of a beast really only comes out for pike deadbaiting which it does lob out well.
It does have more action than the Chapman 700 Dennis Pye tho'.

Is the Forty Fore a reference to the record Carp that was caught, ie the rod is capable of handling that stamp of fish.

A superb reputation I understand. A beautiful rod QC; another from the QC "thicket". Delightful. I had not realised there was a "Forty Fore Heavy" so that was something I have learnt now. I had in mind one day seeking a "Forty Fore" Carp. Interesting that yours seems a good Pike rod. Some of the other Pike rods always seem too broom like but yours seems to have the right balance and feel. Very nice ! I look forward to next week for another post of another stunning rod from the QC stable.

That looks a lovely rod would'nt mind one of those myself :drool: .I think the stepped up MK4 was was intended as a pike rod aswell. :Hat:

That looks to be great rod and if deadbaiting for pike if your thing it should do the job well.

OOer! This thread seems to have flipped across.
Sharkboy, Here be dimensions.
The Top has six rings as follows :- Tip + 5" + 11.5" + 21.5 + 34.5" + 49"
Butt section has two rings :- From Ferrule top + 5" + 18".
