Meeting Maurice Ingham

I started what I laughingly call my legal career with Lincolnshire County Council in 1975. I was aware of a senior planning officer called Maurice Ingham but assumed it was another Maurice Ingham - and I didn't know too much about the real one anyway. A year passed and I had read rather more and realised MI's significance. I met him one day re some esoteric planning matter and asked if he was who I thought he was . He was of course and he was reserved but very kind to a rather gauche young trainee solicitor- I asked if he still fished and he said that the freshwater stuff didn't really appeal anymore but he was very keen on fishing for Skate at Oban . I later visited Woldale en route to my favourite race circuit Cadwell Park -which is just a short distance away . It all seems a very long time ago ......

You're a lucky man having met him - the one CCC member I really would have liked to have met.
