Rest in peace Eddie Price

I had originally tagged this onto the pictures of Eddie Price thread but felt wrong afterwards that I had not made it a post in its own right.

Eddie was a true pioneer in angling and landed Chris Yates's record carp over 20 years before Chris broke the record with what became known as 'The Bishop'.

He will probably be best remembered in angling circles though for his famous picture of the Redmire Monster basking in the weed.

Here is my original post...

Rest in peace Eddie Sir.

It is sad news I receive to-day that Eddie Price M.B.E. left our world on Friday 23 rd January aged 91.

He leaves behind his loving wife and six sons.

These days are done,
their course outrun,
but angling memories still are fun.

If what the religeous people tell us is true, then there is a pretty spectacular gathering of talent going on somewhere.

He'll be in good company :Hat:

A true legend, who I'm sure will fish on alongside his old friends at that celestial pool among the heavens.

Sadly another one of the Redmire gentlemen has passed on, we are coming to the end of an era, when anglers really did help one another. No doubt when I return to Redmire in September, I will sit on the bench, think of Eddie and all the other Giants who have visited this great venue and drink a toast.

Rest in peace Eddie it was a pleasure to know you.
