Chris Yates Tackle

Post by Hovis »

Just finished thumbing through the wonderful "the deepening pool" from the man Yates and there are quite a few references to the tackle he uses. Does anybody have a list as to what Chris preferred to fish with?

I'll start us off with

:B James Avon
:Hardly Altex (when not using a pin)

Any more chaps?

ESP Raptor G4 hooks
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

He loves his 1915 pattern Aerial.

The one you "could get a 30lb carp in"? Wire rimmed if I remember correctly but its been ages since I saw it.

Grice and young centrepins. He was the poster boy for them I believe!

His current landing net is Barder. He has a huge Barder carp net which Edward stopped producing because he felt it was too large and cumbersome but apparently CY loves it.
Chris also uses a Barder reel.
