Well I may as well disclose the magic recipe that has served me well for decades - an evolution of the bait I first encountered at the Leeds University Angling Society in about 1911- or so it feels.

Danish Blue and/or Roquefort; flour ; olive oil; a little water; Nam Pla (Thai Fish sauce); Turmeric and a hint of Chinese Five Spice. Yellow and outrageously smelly ; fished on a pad of crust on a size 4.

With Thai fish sauce, turmeric and the five spice I wonder if you actually need the cheese at all. It must smell something cruel and is not one to leave in the back of your car.

Well chaps I have been inspired by this thread and have this evening made up my first ever batch of Cheese Paste based On Marks and will be testing it out on the Kennet tomorrow in search of Chub.

Wish me luck! :Hat:

Score two so far to the homemade cheese paste chaps, 1 fat Chub and 1 Barbel. :)

Sorry about chub orientation, will fix when I get home. :Hat:
