Amazing work. Beautiful reel. Will you be using it?
Thanks MD, I will be using it on the Wye and Avon next season for barbel. I experienced this for the first time last year, and thoroughly it enjoyed it. But felt that subjecting an aged Aerial to the rigours of 8-10 lb line and powerful fish in deep, fast water, was bordering on abuse. I needed a reel that could handle heavy use.

That is a very good-looking reel. Is it of aluminium alloy? I am starting to wish I had paid more attention during my week on lathes in machine-shop training, many years ago.

Thank you, yes, it’s aluminium.

Nicely designed and well executed Paul. Tasteful and functional.

Sorry, couldn't resist that
I thought I'd responded to this post, but it seems not
That is a stunning reel Paul, beautifully thought out and expertly crafted. I am in awe of your skills.
I hope to see it in the flesh before too long, and have optimistic expectation that you will christen it with a fine barbel from the Avon

Thanks Jeremy, I’m looking forward to fishing the Avon again.
