Great for putting in someone's salad

Excellent work BB I love lure fishing and just like OMR I've a selection of SPs for my bass, pike etc fishing some of which I've made myself. I take it your using plastisol? Have you considered a weedless hook arrangement? That would allow your slug lures to fish in snaggy spots with far less foul ups than exposed hooks. We all know how chub love snags like tree roots etc

I have not thought of a weedless setup yet as I want to get the slugs developed first. I'm off out tomorrow with the mk2s to see if they behave any better in the water, although the mk1s caught I want to cut down on the slugs spinning too much.
Just got to decide on the Wharfe or the Ribble, probably the Ribble as its half the distance of the Wharfe, but I do like the Wharfe.

Unfortunately so mate. This summer passed with zero time for my own fishing. I was beset with innumerable work and family issues

I never had a touch today but it was nice to have the stretch to myself. I had a chat with the bailiff and he said the extra water coming down was colder than it wa nine days ago when i was last there. I didnt think that would bother the chub but he thought different. The mk2s worked a treat in the water, they didnt spin as they now have a vertical tail and they are mounted on a swivel, but the chub were not impressed.

A couple of thoughts,

Have you considered that when a slug is cast into the water, it very often retracts and curls thus looking nothing like the imitations? One of the things that make slugs attractive is the loud 'plop' as they hit the water and chub are quick to investigate.

I've never had much luck with a ledgered slug as they usually come back empty having been nipped open and sucked clean. I've always found them more effective as a moving bait but, I'm always eager to hear alternative experiences.
