Some interesting and ingenious little (7cm x 1cm) plastic floats that I added to my collection this week. Circa 1960s.

Imported by Henry W. Aiken of London and embossed with the name 'BOL' & 'W-GERMANY'.

As can be seen, the orange fluorescent or green luminous tops can be unscrewed to allow shot to be inserted to make them self-cocking. (Part fillng with water may also work to that effect?).

The float can also be fixed or removed without breaking down the tackle via the bottom ring/clip, with the depth being set with the line clip below the tip.

(I'll be giving the loose one a try for shallow margin carp fishing, once the warm weather returns).

I was clearing out a box last week and came across a celluloid I have never seen in 30 years or more it is an Avon style float.Never seen it in catalogue or collection
