Daft (ok, counter-intuitive) as it may seem, one of the cures for line-eating Rapidexes is to use a thicker line - try Omni or Sensor or Mullarkey's generic - one of the cheap ones. Thicker and a bit stiffer, they don't seek out the gaps as keenly as some of the "better" lines.
Another way is to float-fish into headwind with a semi-closed-faced reel like the Shakey "Match International" or the Abu 501/506 etc.
"Understanding" that slack line is the enemy is one thing; by the ninth time you've taken one of those to bits to unscramble the line from behind the spool, you "know" it, surer than you know not to wipe your nose with a nettle.

Paul Witcher Elite Aerial
I had one for a time, but just did not like it ?
A bloke offered me the same money as I paid for it and I sold it ( Idiot )
I wish I had kept it now

Youngs purests. Wanted one so badly till i actually tried one. It felt cheap and put me off. Not a fan of adcocks or other bearing pins. I really like my match aerial for casting, but there are better trotters. As for trotting. My Grice and youngs matchmaker is a brilliant workhorse of a reel. I love my hardy conquest, but wouldn't recommend it as it does seem to suffer from bedding and birds nests more (anyone else found that?). Personal hatreds are center pillar reels, if you know what I mean.

I know they're good 'pins and all that, but in this colour? Surely not!

Anyone seen or used on of these?

340 quid is seriously big money for a pretty cheap looking 'pin. Some VERY good reels out there for that sort of money and only another ton and you're on Chris Lythe street. Can't see too many of these shifting out this side of the pond.

Maybe it is an attempt to attract more female anglers.

Ah yes. And there was silly old me thinking that they were trying to break into the hardcore, session-fishing carp scene.

Pete Watts (bassist Mott the Hoople) fishes with 3 bright pink carp rods. Called I think Pinky, Perky and Porky.
He got them years ago as a direct move against the camo movement.
