Well Allcocks and Milwards were needle manufacturers that diversified into hooks....then started to do other tackle to put along side them.


The firms grew, the children inter-married and new firms were created each supplying one another. I guess if you were thinking of making tackle you'd start your firm where the skill-base already was.
