I use Liberon burnishing cream, is this basically the same as brasso or silvo Haydn? I bought some Colron 0000 wire wool from Homebase, it's a lot coarser after seeing the equivalent Liberon at an Axminster toolcentre.

Burnishing cream is pretty much the same, Andy. T-cut, Farecla, Brasso and so on are all similar. I do find that Silvo seems to be slightly finer so I tend to finish out with that.

You are right. Colouron 0000 is coarser than Liberon. Trollul is also coarser, though not by much. Trollul were lossing out ona few sales to Liberon and have bought out a 0000+ grade whish is still not quite as fine as Liberon's.
