Thanks for the welcome Mike. It's frustrating to know that those Intrepid spares may still be somewhere.
Some years ago I bought a secondhand 'Regal' (for old time' sake). It must have been one of the last made before the business folded. It was quite obvious why the reel hadn't been used, it was awful. The tooling must have been completely clapped out when its constituent parts were machined. I consider it to be irredeemable and wouldn't even offer it on ebay for spares.
Such a shame when my first Intrepid "De Luxe" was such a joy to use in 1958.
