As a Hampshire lad I'd love to be kept informed, thanks John. And Britford sounds good, any more info?

Britford is tickets on the bank; last time I fished it a couple of years ago it was £10 and the bailiff will put you right on likely swims. I've never tried for the roach but have had dace, chub and grayling.

There is a lot of water at Britford with three main streams, the old river, the Navigation and a sidestream plus odd bits and pieces. There can be a lot of walking. I don't know about the Avon but the upper Stour has come up 6ft overnight due to the heavy rain and thaw we had yesterday. Worth checking the LAA website for Britford and talking to Stuart the bailiff on his mobile for conditions, a fair chance it could be three fields wide, again!

In most places the Hampshire Avon is two fields wide - it has been most of the year, there is a contact number for the bailiff at Britford that is Googleable (is that a word?) somewhere to check conditions there.

Yes a really useful web site. I find John Levells Avon diary really good for the middle Avon although it is not updated daily http://www.avondiary.net/index.html . If you click some of the recent photots you can see what the flood water is/has been like.

All great information...
Do you know if there is fishing on a day ticket at Ringwood, Fordingbridge or Downton?
Also, is the day ticket streach of the river at Christchurch good for Barbel.... I know the Barbel are there but not sure how the day ticket section fishes?
Tight lines
