I remember the Lerc poles well, mostly green ones though. Someone won a match in the local park using one to pull fish from the island margins. Within a month every kid in the park had one.

You are right the first pics are" tangoish". Very tangoish in fact. The sun was out. The last picture is the true colour, a nice brown which was what I wanted to achieve the traditional look.
