Many a salnon angler bought but did not use spinning tackle. I've seen lots of collections where the flyfishing tackle was well used (some to the point of being worn out) but the spin tackle was mint

That could well be the case, there were other rods in similar condition, I’m just glad it was properly stored and not stood in a corner only to now resemble a banana!
