I'd plump for a Japanese built, American reel, such as a Roddy.
I note the bail arm is closed by striking the stem of the reel like an Intrepid....not the finest engineering.

Woolies did indeed source the majority of their reels from the USA, but I'm fairly certain that they were all Japanese made. Another contender would be a Karmann. Despite the name, they too were Jap-American made.

Looks very similar to a reel that came with my Daiwa spinning kit back in about 1972
