John Wilson Video

Post by JasonR »

Gents,
I seem to recall an episode of “ Gone Fishing” where John Wilson was fishing with another angler, sat in some tall grass, legering lobworms for perch.
Does anyone else recall this episode and does anyone know if it is on youtube?
Or am i getting too old and my memory is playing tricks on me again?
Tight lines.

If it’s the same one I’m thinking of I’m sure he was sat on a reed bed with an older gentleman. He was ledgering lobs close the the reeds on the far bank and it took a while before he got a perch. It was November and I’m sure they only caught a couple, but they were nice fish.
I’ve tried to find this episode on YouTube but with no joy. The big sturgeon he caught on the Fraser river is another hard one to find, and Wilson did another video when he was coarse fishing with another guy, again in the reeds. Can’t mind what he was after, but he caught a good carp by mistake. Don’t know if you mind that one Jason.
Don’t cast doubt,cast out.

That’s exactly the one i was thinking about. I love all the John Wilson videos, takes me back. There are a few that spring to my mind occasionally but can then never find.

What a collection Mark!
"Good old laughing John Wilson"

Mr B.
The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

I fished Lenwade in the late 90's, we stayed at the Bridge Inn,
Cracking fishery, although we weren't allowed over the other side to the Mill itself as it was a private stretch, we caught a lot of Chub and good Roach on the Pub's section.
The lake in the pub grounds was brilliant too, lots of cracking Tench, as Match lads back in the day, the lady from the pub used to bring beers out to our pegs, the bait trays were full of empties and the bait was underneath... a great holiday that was...😏😎👍
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

One I’ve never seen and can’t see it on the above list.
John fishing with another on the Hampshire Avon at Avon Castle I remember it well as the film crew made a proper mess in our meadows having never asked for permission to take vehicles onto our land. I’m sure a decent Barbel was caught. If anyone can point me in the right direction.
