Dawson of Bromley challenger rod

I recently popped a Dawson of Bromley challenger rod, looking at it the came is a very dark honey colour. I have seen this on some captain Croydon mk lv rods ,l wondered if Bob southwell supplied the came to Dawsons as Croydon and Bromley are very near to one another.l wonder if members have any thoughts on this regards titus

Titus, I have a couple of “Sabina” rods made by Dawson. The cane is also a very dark honey colour. I have no idea as to the supplier of the blanks to Dawson’s though. Info re Dawson’s of Bromley is not forthcoming.

Interesting stuff maybe we will never know,but Dawson certainly used quality cane regards titus
