l like the story that he got his first TV series after complaining to the TV company about the accuracy of some other stuff they had produced.
I lived in the New Forest in the 70s. The chat in several pubs was about how grumpy Jack was. A bit unfair when you just want a quiet pint in your local- and you are pursued by Out of Town viewers

Great news, I watch quite a lot of Talking Pictures, its a good, down to earth channel. I wonder whether they will be showing all series?
