M James

Hi all I have aquired a rod that i know little about that looks like its refurbished very well. Its a M James rod just over 8' and would like to know anything about M James or the rod. Its not can but some type of wood any help would be appreciated

If you don't already know by now it's probably Greenheart Wood. They were really popular before split cane but depending on when it was made they are probably better now for display. All wood has a life yours is most definitely old. There's some explanations on the tube probably the one by Thomas Turners on Greenheart is pretty accurate. I still fish with them and have never had one break on me.
