I'm sure we've all had a few of these nets go through our hands but I don't think this one has seen the light of day since it was purchased you can even still smell the linseed oil in the mesh.

I had one in my youth, weren't they alloy framed?

That's correct :Thumb: it hasn't oxidised at all it was in the bottom of an Eefgeeco holdall along with a hardly used 11ft Rodrill float rod which is probably due to having a split ferrule.

Blimey!That net takes me back,my very first landing net was identical to that.

And mine too! I have one now in very good condition and occasionally I take a deep whiff of the mesh and that oily aroma takes me right back to the first time I used the original to net a half pound Carrot Pond Rudd.
