I was always under the impression that it was the top of Fishers Green but this looks like it is just downstream of the bridge, halfway down the Members stretch at Kings Weir. I was a bailiff there in the nineties but it was after I left (and the crays moved in) that the chub piled on the size. There are still big fish there but I understand there was a fish kill that took the real monsters of the time.

Neil is an extreme, single-minded hunter of big fish and has no qualms going after ‘known’ specimens. Not my cup of tea - I have fished with him in the past, have seen his determination, and listened to many tales since. I haven’t heard what he is up to lately, but he has caught fish beyond the wildest dreams of most anglers. That is a massive chub!

Me too..... sounds a great read... but... its gone and pegged it!
The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

You’ll probably think the link looks odd but don’t worry, it does take you to the archived full article in a blog space.
