Parts salvaged

Post by Russell Brown »

Whenever I have an old reel that is beyond rescue,i strip it of all useful parts.Every screw, large and small, bale arm and line roller, bale spring and any internal springs regardless of shape and size and definitely the components of the spool drag mechanism.I also keep the handles.I've accumulated a very useful collection of parts that live in a very VERY old OXO tin 'Purveyors of OXO to the late King George VI........Dunno 'bout you but I really miss 'im.Oh,and when a clicky biro runs out,I always save the little spring.I've got dozens and dozens of biro springs that I've never had cause to use.I daren't throw them away cos I know what'll happen............

Brilliant😂
No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

Ok....I know it's late but this just couldn't wait.........My biro has just 'run out'........and upon immediate disassembly I was overjoyed.....no.....enraptured to discover that within it's nondescript plastic tube was......
TWO SPRINGS !!! .........But wait......not any old biro springs,a LONG THIN BIRO SPRING....and a SHORT FAT BIRO SPRING........I refer you to the stunning photo evidence.
