I do like a bit of early Wilson! As a schoolboy I used to wait impatiently for his episodes to appear on my idiotbox. Was it Ch4? Many of the older episodes I have only ever seen online. I remember the camping raft episode but not the one on the Swedish crucians. I have read about these amazing crucians in the past and was recently reminded about them in the excellent Crucian Renaissance book. They are a species very dear to my heart

Thank you Nice Roach, thats how I like to rememberJohn Wilson. That is him in his prime for me; I was never interested in his overseas exploits. I was sad that he became so disillusioned with the UK river scene…
