Pellet Mesh?

Post by Caneforme »

I would like to get one of my traditional style landing nets changed from the large diamond style (unknotted so legal) to smaller 'pellet' type mesh for use when I am after the smaller fish.

Is there any one who does this please, a member or other skilled person that you would recommend.

Thank you, John :)

I've done this. I just ordered a modern pan net head with about the same dimensions as my net head. I removed the small alloy frame and I've just laced it round the frame. It takes a bit of concentration and a longer bit of lacing than you would think. I did this with fly line backing.

Hi, I have made a few traditional nets with modern mesh, and most recently altered one for Micky Errends ,its an easy fix to do yourself , measure the circumference of your net , go to a tackle shop and measure the nets there to find one the same dimension as your net .
Thats the easy bit . The next depends upon the design of your net , does it unscrew from the frame ?
If so just release one side , slide off the old mesh and slide on the new and screw it up again . If its a fixed frame do as above as MGs says .
If its a sewn in net mesh on your net its a whole diferent ball game, not so easy but dooable .
