The pole is plainly a piece of shed art, but is very usable, so I gave it a test run yesterday on the backwater at Penshurst, Kent.
I bagged 13 silvers, including a handsome 8 oz. rudd, and thought the pole fished quite well.
It is rather heavy, at 2lb.5oz, a professional piece would be at least half a pound lighter.
My poles saving grace is that it is nicely balanced and not top heavy.
The bottom section weighs 1lb. 5oz. The top three sections total a pound.
The pole fishes well and during my session, a pike around the 3lb mark took my bait on the drop.
The pole coped with this surprise quite well, but spoilt by the inevitable “bite off” at the net.
