Thank you all for your most kind welcome. I have a feeling that being a member of this forum is already adding another dimension to my interest in angling. As somebody once said, 'there's more to angling than catching fish".

How do Richard from the North of England,I too loved the Crabtree books,although I never managed to find that bankside eddy in flood conditions.

I know the one you mean Steve. The closest I ever got to that was a cattle drink devoid of fish! I still fished it though, because that’s what Mr Crabtree did 🤣

We will keep looking,nearest I got was a storm drain which enters the river Ribble.When the ruver floods fish seek refuge in it.
