i've owned a couple of these ,didn't quite get on with them ,better than most but my abu's are eaasier to use and very hard to beat ,i seem to recall they have a nylon gear which can strip .Milo does a modern version of these called the tact 5403 .which comes in a fetching red shade or for the traditionalist a (faux) teak effect

red one

According to this description (presumably from the maker's catalogue) lifted from another forum, it's neither teak nor walnut, but briar (just like your grandad's pipe):

"comes in a briar colour providing a perfect camouflage in the stream environment"

Traditional camo?
