I'm in love..... I may have to cast aside my loyal Trudex for another centrepin...... no ide who made it, but when I picked it out of a box today and gave it a spin it made a cynical old tackle dealer smile! Starback bakelite in an aerial style, nickel silver "german" rim, the tiniest of spool wobble (I think I've found how to dcorrect this now) - but runs like an absolute dream. Seriously - smooth as butte.
I love it.
The buggered Allcocks Stanley that was in the same box I'm less enamoured with......
Sooooooooooooooooooo smooth!

Beautiful reel, almost certainly made by David Slater in Newark.

Good call Churchill - the catch is very much his style.
