Hi guys.
I have mallochs reel that you can turn and it cast like a spool reel. I no nothing about reel myself not even sure how it come to be in procession. Their are some letters engraved on it, which R.G.H.H-V. It's a bit dirty and the handle is missing but other than that it works ok. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Bernard.

Re: Mallochs reel
These reels come up for auction fairly regularly, but don't seem to attract much interest these days:

No idea what the letters mean on yours, unless it's the owner's initials (sounds like a very posh name if so!)?

Hi Bernard, sounds like a Malloch Sidecaster - Google is your friend.
Depending on size and material it's made of, they can be worth a small amount. There are also fakes out there.
Photos would help
