Hello from Bamberg

Post by Bavarian Elk »

Hello everybody,

my name is Hannes, I am 35 years old and come from the beautiful city of Bamberg in Franconia/Germany.
For about two years I have been trying to fish in the traditional way - mainly on the Main, a beautiful river here.
My favorite methods are ledgering (rolling ledger) and (long-) trotting. :fishing1:

Since a week I also own my first cane rod, a James & Son Richard Walker MK IV Avon.
A thousand thanks for this to Mal & Martin / Dübel, who organized this for me
I still miss a traditional CenterPin, but maybe I will find it here with your help

In addition to fishing, I'm a passionate pipe smoker - a hobby that complements very well with the fishing ;-)

Unfortunately, my English is not the best anymore because I am completely out of practice.
Nevertheless I hope to be able to contribute one or the other meaningful here.

Best regards to all,

Hannes

P.S.: Well you made it, Martin - I´m finally here :Hat:
Best regards,
Hannes / Bamberg, Germany

Well, what should I say - a very warm welcome to the TFF, Hannes!
Now we're already three traditional fishermen in Bamberg. There're not only the most breweries per square mile in Franconia but also the most TFFers ...(outside the UK, of course)

And by the way, there's nothing wrong with your English, says one none native speaker to the other :Chuckle:
Greetings from Bamberg
Martin

A warm welcome from North Worcestershire - a James MkIV Avon rod is a pretty good start - well done to all involved.

Welcome to the world of traditional fishing, I hope it adds as much additional pleasure to your fishing as it has done for me.

Welcome to the Forum . That's a lovely rod you have and I hope you find the ideal vintage reel to pair with it .
Your written English skills look better than mine

A hearty welcome, Sir.

Welcome Hannes, you have a fine rod to start your traditional angling with.
