The Life and Times of Bill Quinlan

Post by Mark »

Earlier this year I managed to purchase a copy of 'The Life and Times of Bill Quinlan' from ebay. I put in a bid of £50 and to my surprise I won the book. It is number 26 out of the limited 600 cloth bound editions, signed by Tom O'Reilly.

The chapter by Rod Hutchinson 'A Kick in the Teeth' had me in stitches. They are at Redmire and Bill is still in his pyjamas and is wandering around the bank looking for his teeth that earlier were placed in a cup which he had kicked over.

What a great little read this book is and I love his detailed sketches towards the end of the book.

The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).
