A resounding blank was the result. I fished deadbaits and worm for a couple of hours and had a number of takes/runs on both, all missed but I think they were probably bream and carp. I then became distracted by carp and roach fishing!
Later I fished round the lake twitching a lobworm in all the likely spots around lilies, under trees etc. to no avail and in the evening ledgered again. Once the first eel came in I knew it was time for home :surrender:

Those runs could have been eels. Using soft dead baits for pike, herring & mackerel, after an eel run they appear to "sucked" and the skin stretched. Hard baits, freshwater fish & mackerel heads, don't really show what has happened. This time of the year they feed during the day.

Shame about the perch though!
