Nice, I can recommend Steve Boncey if you are looking for a restorer.

Re: At last, A Forty Fore
I recieved many recommendations for the restoration work on this rod and thank all for their input. In the end I went with my gut feeling and contacted Steve Boncey who agreed to take on the task.
I have to say that I have been massively impressed with the way Steve goes about his business and he has been a joy to do business with.
It became clear that the rod needed a new ferrule, the original having a crack. I made it clear that I wanted the new ferrule to be as near a copy of the original as possible and after a short while he had sourced one. Steve also consulted me on the minutia of the restore , realising that I wanted the finished rod as close to the original build as possible. The silk is the original colour and all metalwork other than the ferrules and intermediates is original.
Steve believes this is now possibly the best Forty Fore out there. I can't wait to use it.
I have no hesitation in recommending Steves work and hope to deal with him again in the future.

Lovely looking bit of kit. You just need to put a satisfying bend in it

Oh my!
Gurn, I don't know what you did to deserve this? But it must have been saintly!
Steve: if you see this, the work you've done on this is beautiful!

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.
