John Farey has moved to Spain about 18 months ago. He told me he would be coming back fairly regularly and I met him once on one of his return visits early on but I have not heard from him since.

Have you tried sending him a text to his mobile?

Thanks for that PJ, I was not actually wanting to contact him, it was just an enquiry as to the place being shut permanently .

I wonder what he did with everything?

I met him once when he was stocking up and he bought a dozen books for a big sum of money. Dark car-park just off M25, shady looking deal involving the back of his Range Rover opening up and cash handed over...

It’s a wonder we didn’t get arrested!

My last visit was on an occasion when he had come back from Spain - apparently he had someone looking after things. He had been thinning out the rods for a while before he moved but still had 50 plus some of which were never listed and of course he never really had any reels. But there were still hundreds of books, dozens of cased fish, dozens of nets and other items - a true emporium. I will send him a text and see if he responds.
