So
The stumbling block had been the pouch until I remembered seeing an old leather farriers apron amongst some old tac in the barn
So I shortened said apron a tad to provide sufficient material for the pouch.
The problem I had was sewing, I bent two needles trying to push them through the hide and didn't have a drill small enough to prepare holes prior to sewing so I put in some brass eyelets and laced it with a thin leather thong cut from an old strap, this also provides the "pull tag" and it works very well.
My daughter tested the catty with frozen broad beans which she fired across the back garden, thankfully avoiding the cat
So that's another item of traditional tackle struck from the wanted list!
