Dave Burr wrote: Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:47 am Hmmm? I reckon you should use a swear box whilst fishing with these.... you may save enough money to buy a quiver tip :Chuckle: They will be great at bite detection but that's a long tip and I concur with the tangle potential. But nothing ventured.... I hope I am proved wrong.

As for the article. Magazines, back in the day, were great for sharing invention in tackle and technique. Imagine that piece written today. The concept would have been 'borrowed' by a major company, mass produced, wrapped in yards of single use plastic and built up as essential, groundbreaking, catch enhancing wonder kit. All text wrapped around umpteen images including the obligatory swingtip held out to camera with blurred behind.

Depressing isn't it.
I agree with you about the magazines Dave. I remember making our own monkeys climbers from a magazine article back in the day.
But we have to be optimistic Dave. If preliminary test go well and I iron out any niggles, this could be a game changer. Then the skies the limits - World Domination.......

At least you could go home and say you had loads of bites. :Hahaha:

I was wondering where the cover photo was taken. It looks to me like Scarborough.

If it was Scarborough I think that there would be a castle where the houses are at top of the hill. Unless it's the South Bay, but it still doesn't look right.

It is Scarborough! Says so on the inner pages.

I looked at this tip a little while ago but couldn't get the linkage, a bracelet type, - to remove the tip when required off the line!
As an "emergency" tip it could work very well.

I've got one similar to that. I'll get a picture and post it Olly.

Here's the quick release swing indicator I was on about Olly. It's roughly 6" in length, but I don't know Thank you the other end attaches to.
