I've used lots of clear nail varnish on whippings that darkening of colour did not matter. It seals ,glues and lays the "hairs" down.(its also highly inflammable so sindge the unwanted first). However never thought to progress to colour varnish or use Pampas grass as a float making material. must try a.s.p. so many thanks for this post . :Thumb: Tony
