leather jackets for bait?

digging some garden borders i came across some leather jacket casters, larvie of crane fly i think, anyone used them as bait?

I heartily concur... when I was a spotty yoof I used to go fishing and acquire my bait by the age old method of **** kicking... brandlings, leather jackets, slugs, snails, lobs.... anything....! :Thumb: :Hat:

I have caught good Perch on them in the past - haven’t used them now for an age.
