Sorry Santiago, when I said viable what I was getting at is that the offspring was capable of doing what it should be able to do such as breeding etc and that they could be fertile. :Hat:

There was a few posts last year on Prussian carp - a Crucian "lookalike"! Off soon to catch a few I hope.

A second generation hybrid is an F2, not to be confused with this tag applied by fish breeders hoping to muddy the waters!

So a crucian 'carp' whilst not a carp in itself, can breed with several of the carp species? Why do I keep picturing Burt Reynolds in a canoe in my mind's eye?
