What a corker !!! Well done indeed, Sir.

Superb SK
As its a PB you could at least tell us the weight?
Also the tail looks a bit odd - an old warrior ?

Re: This Season's Target
Oh sorry, 2lb 9oz, beat my old best by half a pound.
The tail damage, at a guess, was probably caused by a cormorant or a keep net. A warrior, they all were. Ancient fish that made my afternoon one to remember.

Fantastic to be able to catch 5 crucians of the size you caught them - especially from that water. The Sweetcorn Kid wrote:Oh sorry, 2lb 9oz, beat my old best by half a pound.

In my area back in the late 60's and early 70 ' s crucians were common in almost every stillwater in the area - but even though they were common and numerous large ones were rare and 2lb crucians were almost unheard of.

I feel very privileged to have been lucky enough to make the acquaintance of such a splendid shoal.Julian wrote:Fantastic to be able to catch 5 crucians of the size you caught them - especially from that water. The Sweetcorn Kid wrote:Oh sorry, 2lb 9oz, beat my old best by half a pound.

Re: This Season's Target
I've yet to catch a crucian, I'm really struggling to find them on a little lake I know holds them. Any tips? the lake is an old mere, lots of weed, loads of tree's, lots of features so they really could be anywhere.

Re: This Season's Target
Lake is here - http://www.rocklandsmere.co.uk/main/coarse and is amazing for float fishing, I've fished it 3 times and never seen another angler. Its tiny, you can walk round in 10 mins. If you ever want to organise a forum event in Norfolk then this would be the place. I've had perch to 2lb, roach to 2lb, loads of silvers and a few small pike but no crucians....
