I remember catching chub on cheddar cheese trotted through reeds on the river Mole at Hersham some 50 years ago

Esher Mills or on the Hersham Bypass road or Winterdown? Fished all of them - some free - bits club water.

Pooparts (?) Farm Hersham and behind the strawberry picking field opposite Esher Rugby ground, also in East Molesey, goodness that's a long time ago!

I did a piece with Bill Rushmer chub fishing below Esher Mills - photographer's name forgotten but he was from the Angling Times, in the late 60s.

Excellent, reminds me of years ago when I use to use Dairy Lea for chub and carp. I must try it again sometime.

Did you know that Cheddar cheese doesn't have to be made in the West Country? We have all been short changing those Chub for years
